Salesforce Inc. has announced plans to hire over 1,000 new employees to support the sales of its latest AI-driven product, Agentforce. Launched last month, Agentforce is a generative AI agent designed to handle tasks like customer support and sales development autonomously, a move that CEO Marc Benioff says has already gained “amazing momentum” among customers.
The company’s AI pivot this year is part of a larger strategy to boost sales in response to growing demand for autonomous agents. Agentforce, priced at about $2 per conversation, joins a competitive AI market alongside products from Microsoft and ServiceNow. Salesforce, which has been streamlining sales operations and reducing costs, expects this expansion to solidify its leadership in the AI-enhanced customer relations space.
Salesforce’s stock surged 2.5% to a record high following the announcement, reflecting investor optimism about the company’s AI push.
